The title says it all. Any normal person who would happen upon, basically any room in the house, would look at me with pity and say "Girl, you got a long way to go." However, considering where we've come from, things are really wrapping up! Here are a few before pictures just to remind you where we started...
Gross. Moving on.
This is probably one of my favorite update posts bc these are the most visual changes we've had,at least for a long time. It also gives you a better place to jump from when it comes to imagining the finished product. First, the cabinets are hung!
Thanks to many helping hands last weekend these are up and I love all the kitchen space! Josh and friends have also gotten the base for the tile counter top attached. It really gives you a great feel for the bar area, which is the entire peninsula. It's a huge bar, easily can seat 7-8 people...More if you really like each other. The counter section where the sink is at is four feet wide and it's three feet everywhere else. So.much.counter.space.
The counters are going to be tile. We actually used the exact tile for our Lexington house counter tops and really liked them. It's a fraction of the cost of any custom counter top and even a little cheaper than the laminate counter tops. The tile are 24in square and a dark gray. The edges are going to be a dark stained wood and the back splash is a gorgeous white tile that I'm in love with! It won't let me insert those pictures here so see them at the end.
The kitchen is just really starting to look like a kitchen, and an amazing one at that!
As I was walking through the basement I noticed that the appliances were sitting out and had been taken of of the boxes... It hit me that they would be going in the kitchen in a few short weeks! For some reason that made things seem more real for me.
Lastly, here are a few pictures of what will be an amazing laundry room. Right now it's not so amazing, but give us a few months of living here and it's going to knock your socks off... As much as a laundry can at least.
I'm sure I will have another update soon, we will be painting this weekend! Holy guacamole, that's going to be a total game changer!
This is the tile for the kitchen back splash. Its a bright white.
This is the counters at our Lexington house. The same tile and counter rail, but a much prettier backsplash.
BTW, if this is not an impressive post then check back next time for what it's all going to look like with a coat of paint!
Looking good baby girl, love the kitchen . Dad
